Berlin Cathedral at a glanceThe Berliner Dom combines an elaborate interior, dynastic history and a 270-step climb to the dome walkway.
The site’s religious history reaches back to the fifteenth century, while today’s cathedral was designed by Julius Carl Raschdorff for Wilhelm II and inaugurated in 1905.
War destroyed the lantern and severely damaged the dome. Reconstruction begun in East Germany led to the 1993 reopening; inside are mosaics, the Sauer organ and the Hohenzollern crypt.
Climb 270 steps to the walkway about 50 metres above the city for views of Museum Island, the Humboldt Forum, TV Tower and Unter den Linden.
