Lefkos remains in my memory as a peaceful bay that encouraged unhurried swims. After the steep descents of the east coast, the relationship with the sea felt more relaxed here.
There is no single Lefkos beach. A sequence of small bays lets you choose between sheltered corners, serviced sand and viewpoints towards Sokastro.
The municipality notes Byzantine and medieval remains on the islet, as well as ancient traces and Roman aqueducts in the wider area. Observe them respectfully and do not treat unprepared ruins as ground to walk over freely.
The crystalline water remains the key to the place. Lefkos suits a slow beach day and works as a practical base for exploring the island's western side.
The west coast receives different light from the eastern bays, especially towards evening. Meltemi winds can quickly alter the sea, so morning calm never replaces checking current conditions.
