Sea and walks

Silvi Marina seafront and beach

Six kilometres of sandy coast, a gently shelving seabed and a long route through squares, greenery, bicycles and pine trees.

The seafront is the everyday heart of the town. For roughly six kilometres it offers a long walk through greenery, beach access points and squares, with the central stretch around Piazza Iris, Piazza Marconi and Piazza dei Pini.

This is where the marina shows its most recognisable rhythm: families, bicycles, pauses in the shade and, on summer evenings, a steady flow of people. The coastal cycle route makes it possible to explore much of the shore without a car and connects with the wider cycling network of Abruzzo.

The beach is made of fine sand and the seabed slopes gradually for several metres. That makes the shore attractive to families, although sea conditions and safety must always be judged on the day.

For me, the most atmospheric stretch is the northern end near the boundary with Pineto, where a broad pine grove follows the sea. Here the greenery comes close to the sand and begins to anticipate the landscape around Cerrano Tower.

For a stroll, choose a stretch of promenade and return along the same route; for a beach visit, consider the access point and distance from facilities, especially with children or a pushchair.

In protected stretches, use designated crossings and avoid walking over dunes. For a view of the coast from above, go up to Silvi Paese. Walking between the marina and village requires allowing for the gradient and return journey, especially along the Path of Splendour.
